The Woodcarver

Hello readers!

This is one of my favourite photos from the fair a couple weeks ago. This man might be around 75 or maybe 80 and he was sitting there, focused on his work and oblivious to all passing by. He didn’t even bother to raise his eyes from the piece of wood he was working on, shile I was taking a shot: a great photo object indeed! As I was standing up and about to walk away, another man started talking to me and asked me if I was from a newspaper, making a report about the woodcarver. I said no and asked him why is he asking. He then told me this man used to work as a chief police officer back in the days of deep socialism here in Czech republic and apparently had a pretty rich history…and nowdays, he carves and cuts statuetes out of wood. There’s a little special to every photo, isn’t it 😉
